Active Duty Military Patient: “I learned so much about myself and others.”
I just want to thank you for creating HOPE and giving me the opportunity to come and gain the tools to help me manage my PTSD. I learned so much about myself and others while I was here. I am not 100% but I am leaving better than I arrived.
Ten days after giving birth, I found myself in Wellington Regional’s ER with a right MCA stroke. The surgeons went in and removed my clot, effectively leaving no trace of a scar or lingering clots. The nurses in the SICU and step-down units were great about helping me get to the NICU to see my son and bringing my milk down to the unit for him.
Because of the collaborative effort of the doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, respiratory therapists, etc., I have no lasting effects of the stroke.
It was a crazy time for my family. The angels at Wellington Regional helped make it a lot easier than it could have been.
Thank you, Wellington Regional, for saving my son and me!
